Being the only family member of 6 that enjoyed Eminem's play on words, or Tupac's Comeback, He felt like an out cast for much of his preteen life. His family was not against it, as a matter of fact they were very supportive, but Steven was a stubborn child and did not think his family would react well to his interest in rap music. During the seventh grade after a recent move to the "urban" side of town Steven began exploring the possibilities of being a rapper himself. He began to rap and sing privately in his garage, for 2 years this continued until he finally decided to break the ice and tell his parents and friends about his talent. After a month of non-stop writing school night after school night sometimes catching only 4 hours of sleep a night, he felt confident enough to inform his friends and family. He then performed his first written song to them and instantly gained the support of his friends and family. It was indescribable how he felt after his friends had his songs stuck in their heads. His stage name, The Rookie, was jokingly decided upon by his friends because of his age difference and how great his developed talent was. As a Christmas present his brother reserved him recording time with a close friend. Cameron Luck A.k.a 50-50 of Checkpoint 1337, Recorded Stevens introduction single. in 3 weeks he had over 500 plays on his Myspace page. A serious morale booster was merged to the fire that Steven was feeling. He would constantly think about his dreams and that he could actually achieve them.
